Marc`s Fusion Cafe in Rockford

Best sushi in Rockford, Marc is a master at what he does. The food and cocktails are also very good. Everything is vibrant and tastes fresh with a very quaint atmosphere. Never had a bad experience here other than trying to get a table during busier hours.

The sushi here is just fantastic! The namesake Marc's Fusion roll is a great choice, and anything with the "spicy spider" crab meat is always a win. Their entrees are always tasty with very fair portions. Enjoy a tall, cold beer and treat yourself to some of the best Asian food in Rockford!

Small place with limited seating, very cozy and definitely worth the wait. Best sushi in the Stateline area.

I love the food here and they are so nice

I absolutely love the sushi here. Their sushi rolls are the largest in town that I've seen. The rice in the sushi is very flavourful. The fish is fresh and they have great vegetarian options. They have a cozy atmosphere. This is now my favorite place to stop after work for dinner.

The sashami appetizer was fantastic. Large portions, overall amazing meal.

Small and Classy. Busy and Intimate all at the same time. Terrific food and terrific service. The one down side here is they don't take reservations. Not a problem though, just have a Marc-Tai while you wait.

Came Wednesday afternoon, excellent tempura shrimp roll, and also tried the Jim’s fusion, which was delicious as well, but not as garlic-y as the description made it sound. Their crab Rangoons (Wednesday’s only) are the best around. They also have mochi, which is a great dessert too. All around would give a thumbs up, I’ll give it another try in the near future for sure.

Been going here for years now, but today was the first time I ate there on a Saturday, so I finally had the chance to try the crab ragoon (only available on Saturday) made with real crab. Wow, were they delicious. We always rotate the rolls--still haven't figured out which one's my favorite, they are all so damned good. Always get the Sashimi platter--awesome. The chicken fried rice is the best I've ever had, also excellent with scallops.

Always a pleasure visiting Marc and my tastebuds were spoiled once again. The young man hasn't lost his touch. I'm curious to see if he will ever go bananas and change the menu with new dishes but why change a perfect menu, right?

This place is amazing. Service is great. Food is always spectacular - great sushi. Some of the entrees are near the best we have had all over the country let alone in Rockford. Husband LOVES Jim's Fusion. I love the sushi. The perfect restaurant. This is the top of the list... Love it!

Excellent, interesting sushi. The rolls are larger than I’m used to and I was surprised at the amount we got for our money. The ingredients all seem very fresh and high quality. The space itself is small, but I think that’s part of the charm. Highly recommend.

Best sushi in town!! Delicious steaks! They even have good pork chops and we’ve never liked those! Seriously, Marc has ruined me for sushi. It is super cozy (small), but worth the wait for a table!

This is hands-down my favorite restaurant in Rockford. It does look questionable on the outside, BUT I promise they make up for it in their taste and quality of food. Best scallops I've had in my life. Sushi (sashimi and nigiri) is always on point. Squid can be iffy sometimes, but never at Marc's. It is always like butter. The seaweed salad is HUGE, and the absolute best! I hope they never close.

We only had wait about 45mins but as usual we were not disappointed. Both the sushi rolls and the rib eye steaks were great the waitresses were very attentive even though they were extremely busy Great evening out on Valentine's Day

Always a great time. Perfect service Marc is great and the ladies are friendly always willing to help. As also got vegan friendly food. Win win in my book.

Umm how have I not reviewed this place yet. Absolutely love it, best sushi in the area, hands down. Crab cakes, pork chops, crab Rangoon (on Saturdays only), and fried rice are definitely worth trying other than the delicious sushi. I'd come here twice a week before I was married!

This place is Rockfords best hidden secret. It is a quaint little restaurant that seats about 50 people (maybe less). They do not take reservations but it is truly worth the wait. Great sushi and the pork chops are amazing. Fried rice is also great!

Tight, small space - but great food

Our favorite Sushi Spot in Rockford! Definitely not traditional sushi. The fusion aspect is heavily played with. A great example is the fajita roll. It is so good!

Food and service are great. The restaurant is small the portions are not. The service team work together real well. There was a line at the door before they opened. My 26 year old son and I each ordered two sushi rolls. We should have only gotten one. They were huge and delicious. My wife, who is extremely picky, had the scallops. The scallop portion was large and they were well prepared. Great dining experience.

Best sushi I've had in Rockford. Hard for me to deal with what feels cramped to me and enjoy my time. Sitting at the bar helps with that for me.

No other sushi restaurant in Rockford or even in the surrounding area compares to Marc’s. The sushi is always high quality and tastes so fresh. You can’t go wrong with the Crab Rangoon, Pork Chop or fried rice. Heck you can’t go wrong with anything you order. Skip JMK and Shogun they aren’t even in the same playing field. Marc’s is absolutely amazing and will never disappoint.

Really good and the portions are considerably larger than other sushi restaurants.
